SANTA CROCE SHRINE
Type of walk: medium
Length: about 2-2 hour and a half
Being the area of Santa Croce/”La Crusc” south facing, the sun touches this location the whole day, giving the amazing chance to be surprised by the evocative colours of the dolomitic enrosadira (sunset).
From back of San Cassiano church, take the path number 15, “Via Crucis San Linert”. A highly recommended stop-over is the lodge Ospizio Santa Croce (mt 2.045), both for history lovers and for who have a sweet tooth. It has been built in 1718 and since then it has been a major point of meeting and refreshment for the piligims coming from all the different parts of the district. Today it offers hospitality for all the tourists, who can find on the menu the famous Kaiserschmarren (the emperor omelette with cranberry jam) by sexton Erbino.
